Knowing and understanding our population is important for both strategic and service planning. Knowsley schools have the third highest rate of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in England, and although the long-term impact of this higher prevalence of SEND is unknown, national evidence shows that those with special educational needs are the most disadvantaged socially and economically.
